Birchwood Cares

We have big hearts, and we’re not afraid to show it.

HFOT-2021

Giving Back

More than just a company, Birchwood is a family—to each other, our customers, our industry colleagues, and the communities in which we live and work. Giving back has been a core part of our organization since the very beginning, and we’ve grown our philanthropy efforts consistently and steadily over the years. Today, we give back via our leadership in industry associations, our partnerships with many different non-profit organizations, and participation in many local and regional charitable events and causes. Our leadership team encourages employees to suggest charities, and Birchwood matches employee donations. Many of our team members have family members who are either active or retired military personnel, so we often support groups that help veterans and active service men and women.

Supporting Charities

Whichever group we’re supporting, our goal is to make as large and as positive an impact as possible. Sometimes, that means writing a big check. Other times, it means our sales team works together to collect dozens of pairs of pajamas for a local charity serving kids in need. Big causes and small causes—they all matter. We just want to make a difference.

Here are just a few of the groups Birchwood is proud to work with to make the world a better place:

Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives.

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. They do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.

This foundation serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. They do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities. For example, their R.I.S.E. program builds specially adapted smart homes, and their Snowball Express program provides year-round support to help the children of fallen military heroes maintain wonderful traditions.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of their founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.

The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home was established in 1908 and provides services to families and children from childhood to adulthood. Their Residential Care Program provides care and a family style home for school-aged children who have been victimized by abuse, neglect or family trauma, and provides education, counseling, as well as recreation and ministry opportunities.

We invite you to reach out if you’d like to learn more about the charities and causes we support. And we’d also be interested to hear about any organization whose mission is close to your heart. We love partnering with customers to support favorite charities, local or otherwise.
